Help Jenn Beat Breast Cancer

My little sister and best friend, Jenn was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer 4 weeks ago. She will have surgery this week, followed by treatment and reconstruction. She has been off work for a month and will have no income for the months ahead.

Jenn has a very physical job and is not eligible for income protection because she was a casual at the time of her diagnosis. Her health insurance won’t cover treatment, because of a waiting period, and the out of pocket medical expenses are already stacking up.

Jenn means the world to me. We have been side by side our whole lives, and this fight won’t be any different. My goal is to help ease the burden of her medical and living expenses, so I’ve created this GoFundMe for those who want to contribute.

Over the past two years, Jenn has worked so hard to start a new career at sea, and paid off the last of her debt the week she was diagnosed. My heart hurts for her, and I hate that I can’t protect her from this.

For those who know us, we are a private pair, and not inclined to ask for help. This felt like a good time to start, and any help is greatly appreciated.

There’s a lot happening, and it’s a challenging time, so any words of support will be read on here or can be passed on to Jenn through me.
