Dear Friends of Football in New York State, Players, Parents, Coaches and Fans,

Thousands of high school students have been shut down from playing football this fall despite New York having one of the lowest infection rates in the country.  High School football is being played in 45 states in the country which puts our NYS children at a disadvantage.  New York student athletes will miss potential scholarship offers if not allowed to play this fall. 

Why are children in NYS being held back by the Governor and the Head of the NY High School Athletic Association?  We dont know why?  They said hey, we MIGHT let them play in March, but there are no guarantees they wont cancel it or continue to push it off, blaming each other like they have been consistently doing since June,  By March 2021, many kids will have missed the Scholarship offer window and lose their football future that they have worked for all of their lives. This hurts all of New York State and will continue to as more sports are set to be cancelled in the winter. The NFL is playing, leagues in the NCAA are playing, and even Syracuse University is playing.  What stings the most is that surrounding states like New Jersey have been playing for weeks!  There have been over 1200 High School games so far in the USA with no Covid cases reported due to playing the sport of tackle football.   Many Universities have heard the call and are reversing their initial decisions for these exact reasons, but our Governor continues to ignore our NYS kids and parents pleas to let them play.

These kids are being deprived of their constitutional right to a full High School education in the State of New York which includes athletics.  Well, enough is enough dear Governor Cuomo and Dr Zayas, both of you keep pointing your fingers at each other saying its the others fault.  Well we are tired of you ignoring the science and its time to do the right thing for the children of the New York State.  We are not seeking to put our kids in harms way, we are only seeking fairness.

#letthemplay was started by a group of parents from every corner of the NYS in our own individual Districts.  We have now banded together for all the kids of NY to fight back. 

We have over 40,000 supporters from several petitions, but we need your help  one more time.  We are asking that if you can, please help us, and donate $5 dollars per family who believe in this cause.  Any and all amounts are welcomed to help us in getting the kids back on the field in full equipment before the end of September so that they can start a season in 2020, with Playoffs and and a Championship providing many kids a path to a possible Post-Secondary Education that they have worked so hard for most of their lives.

#letthemplay has hired the Mermigis Law Group to file a civil action and injunction to force New York State and the Governing Athletic Association to allow fall football.   James Mermigis, Esq. has filed actions on behalf of gyms and restaurants already and has been successful.  The only this Governor and his Followers understand is litigation, so they are getting just what they have asked for by keeping these kids from playing and scaring all leagues in NYC to fall in line.  They are ignoring the Science, our rights and whats truly important to citizens and their children.  No wonder people are leaving this State in droves.  Let's get these kids BACK ON THE FIELD, IN EQUIPMENT, AND PLAYING IN 2020!  If not, they will pay for every single scholarship lost because of their negligence. 

This fundraiser is to assist in litigation costs and expenses to bring this EXPEDITED lawsuit on behalf of our student athletes.  Our goal is 30k.
