Save my moms house
Donation protected
I am making a plea on the behalf of my sister and I to help save my mother's house. She is a single mom of two and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She is an immigrant from Jamaica and came to America in 70s with 9 of her 12 siblings. She is the youngest of 12 children and has lost 2 of her siblings and with the recent loss of her her 2nd eldest sister just this past summer it has put the family in a position to provide limited help. My sister and I live in Boston, Massachusetts and have to fly back and forth when we can to support our mother and help maintain her home to the best of our abilities.
She has been in and out of the hospital for the past three years, she had seven surgery. While being home alone one day, she was not feeling well and had to be rush to Snellville East Medical Center. The doctors at EMC were unable to provide my mother with a diagnoses or solution, telling us to "Just Pray". After hours of advocating for our mother we were able to have her transferred to Emory Hospital in Atlanta. She has been in the hospital for over a month now due to a stomach infection and has had 3 surgeries since being there to insert 3 separate bags to drain fluids. All 3 bags are still currently drained and there is no timeline on when they will be removed. Over the past 3 year she has had 4 blood transfusions and she is currently on 4 different types of antibiotics IV bags.
She lost her job and is behind on the mortgage payments as she has been awaiting disability for almost a year now. Growing up with a single mother working multiple jobs to support me and my sisters, I know first hand that my mother is a fighter. She will fight to get better and need support during this time so she will have a home to go to when she gets better.
We have learned that our mother's house is up for foreclosure if we do not come up with $6,000 plus fees by December 12th 2019and an additional payment must be made at the top of the year. Please help us through this stormy season as our faith reminds us that this too shall pass.
Many Thanks in Advance,
Talia
