Fund Yumna's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amir and I am raising money for my niece Yumna Khan and her family.
About Yumna
Yumna is a 6 year old who has suffered from Pure Red Cell Aplasia (PRCA) her entire life. PRCA is a condition where the bone marrow cannot produce red blood cells on its own.
The Facts
· In 2013, Yumna began treatment--blood transfusions and steroids
· Prednisolone steroid is the only treatment that has allowed Yumna to maintain healthy red blood cell levels.
· The steroids cause young Yumna to throw up her food and liquids.
· Prolonged use of steroids will continue to decrease Yumna's quality of life.
· The doctors have told us that a bone marrow transplant would cure Yumna's PRCA.
How Can Donations Help?
Yumna's hails from an underprivileged household in Pakistan. They do not have health care nor the finances required to give Yumna this operation. Without this operation, she will continue to grow weak and suffer a low quality of life. If we reach our fundraising goal, we will be able to afford this bone marrow transplant operation.
Yunma's 10 year old brother is the only donor match available. This means that both children in the family will be under hospital care. Yumna's family will be taking months off work in order to care for both children as they recover.
Where are the funds going?
· Bone marrow transplant operation
· Post operation rehabilitation care for both Yumna and her brother
· Transportation for Yumna and family to travel to an Indian
hospital
· Monthly expenses for 6 months to 1 year
We are grateful for any amount contributed and ask that you keep Yumna and her family in your prayers. Thank you.
