With deep sadness, we're heartbroken to share that Kane Kneip has passed away. He was a brother, a son, a friend, and most of all, a father to our daughter Lincoln- the light of his life.
One of my greatest fears was the heartbreak our little girl would feel if she ever lost her dad — and now, that fear has become reality. Lincoln has lost Kane, just like we all have. And it hurts in a way that’s hard to put into words.
If you knew Kane, you know he was one of a kind — loud, loyal, funny as hell, and someone who could light up a room. Cat Daddy is in da house!
He loved the Dallas Cowboys, good times with his people, and most of all, he loved his daughter, Lincoln. She was the center of his world.
Even though Kane and I were no longer together, we always shared the deepest love for our daughter. His brothers Kyle and Kelly, having already lost their parents in recent years, They have asked me to lead this fundraiser - I'm doing it for them, I'm doing it for Lincoln, and I'm doing it for Kane.
The truth is, Kane didn’t have anything set aside for a moment like this. He lived in the moment — and if you knew him, you know that’s exactly how he rolled. Now we’re reaching out to the people who loved him, the ones missing him, sharing stories about what a great friend he was — and there are so many of you — to help us say goodbye.
If you can give, thank you. If you can share, we’re grateful.
With love,
Cara,
on behalf of Kyle, Kelly, Linx... and Kane
