Injured Pittsburgh Officer Dan Mead

Donation protected
We are thankful to G-d that Dan is alive. When the call went out that shots had been fired at the Tree of Life synagogue, Pittsburgh Police Officer Dan Mead and his partner were the first to respond.  As officer Mead approached the entrance, he found himself face to face with the evil gunman, his automatic rifle pointed directly at him, separated only by the glass door of the synagogue.  Dan remembers hearing the rapid pop, pop, pop of the automatic weapon spraying him with bullets.  Dan's bravery forced the gunman to retreat back into the synagogue, where he was eventually captured without further loss of life.  It is thought that if the gunman had escaped the synagogue he would have continued his hateful rampage. We know that Dan faces a long recovery, and the goal of this page is to allow him to focus on his recovery without worrying about the additional related expenses that he will surely incur. My name is Sam Angelo, and I have been Dan's friend for 25 years. The woman in the picture with him is his sister Diane Mead, my business partner for 14 years.  My wife Alisa and I are in awe of the courage Dan displayed running towards gunfire from an automatic weapon, armed only with a pistol, and wearing a vest that he knew would not stop the bullets from that gun. Let's combat the hate by showering Dan with love and supporting his recovery. All funds donated here will go directly to Officer Dan Mead, only he will have access to the funds.
