WnW Renovation & Expansion
Donation protected
Hello everyone. This fundraiser is to help Waddles'n'Wags renovate existing enclosures and build a new building so that there is a place for the animals during the winter that everyone can still visit in the off-season. Currently, a lot of the animals that are part of the family live in the house during the winter months which makes it virtually impossible to conduct tours and let people in to visit.
Waddles'n'Wags had been doing what they do since 2006. It started as a small farm petting farm but soon people were dropping off their unwanted animals and it became the exotic rescue shelter it is now. Working consistently to implement new rules and habitats for the animals as these are decided on by the powers that be, the shelter relies only on income and donations from guests that visit or hire them to do educational presentations. Waddles'n'Wags has never been given a grant or loan from the government or any other institution.
New laws and policies for the keeping of exotic animals are quickly coming to the fore in Ontario and they will finally include a recommended static size or area for each species of animal so we all know that we are giving them what they need. The new building will be built with those specifications in mind.
Lesley, who just passed away on April 10th, was a huge part of Waddles'n'Wags and she really wanted to work on expanding so she could educate people and work with them and the animals year-round. Instead of flowers or cards, we figure people can donate to the place that held such joy for her over the last 18 years.
