The Boiler, a tale of date rape, was the first song I ever wrote in the first band I was ever in. It was also the only original song from my first ever live performance in a band. It was important then and remains so. I was 20 back then and now, at 66, I'm going to collect my state pension. Finally. People were incredibly kind this year when I needed financial help to tour. This is my way of marking being lucky enough to grow old and hoping to give back to the society that has raised me.
