Weybridge Tree Planting

After months of negotiations between Elmbridge Borough Council and myself and other stakeholders, we've concluded that the cost of replanting trees, especially because of the maintenance, is so expensive that it makes the project undeliverable. The council doesn't have funding to replant the trees and whilst the criminal case is still ongoing, Surrey Police have asked us not to publicise this as a tribute to the activities which occurred. Therefore, we would like to use the donations to plant up to 5 trees (as this is the maximum these donations will cover) at the canoe club in Weybridge. These trees will need to be maintained twice a week for a period of 2 years and this will be done by local volunteers. We are hoping to send a message of good fortune for the trees to symbolise new beginnings and remember those we lost during the pandemic. If you would like to withdraw your donation since the cause has changed from the original statement, you must please do so before the 21st of August. Thank you for your continued support. Liani.

The funds will be withdrawn by Mannifield Residential Ltd and will be paid directly to the supplier of the trees and the commemorative plaque. Transaction details will be shared with donors. 

The tree-planting ceremony will take place on Remembrance Sunday where we hope to include any donors, the local community and those who have lost loved ones during the pandemic. The tree-planting will symbolise a new start to life rather than focusing on the fallen trees which we are not currently able to publicise. Further details of the event will be sent out nearer the time.
