THE WHO: Wes is a 17 yr old boy who loves the Toronto Blue Jays. Having spent the last 3 years waiting for a heart transplant in Toronto he's gotten to experience some really cool things. Including meeting his faves like Vladdy Erik Swanson, Ernie Clement and legendary Jose Bautista!
THE WISH: A common conversation during these meet and greets was Wes' wish to see a spring training game in Dunedin Florida once he recovered from his heart transplant.
THE BAD NEWS: Unfortunately, the heart transplant did not come in time, his other body systems are failing fast and he was sent home on hospice care in December with months to live.
MORE BAD NEWS: Just this week, Jennah, Wes' mom had a very difficult conversation with Sick Kids in Toronto and the Palliative home care team...Wes is now facing weeks potentially left. He is determined to make it to this game, and his family is determined to get him there. This however now has the family literally planning and paying for not only his living celebration of life (Feb 21st) and his end of life expenses but also trying to make this last wish happen for him. All in the month of February. Unfortunately He doesn't qualify for any wish granting organization since he used his 'wish' when he was 4.
THE GOOD NEWS A wonderful and generous friend of the family purchased spring training tickets as a gift for the family for the March 10th game in Dunedin Florida.
Wes has worked so hard in the 3 years he was waiting for a heart. He volunteered at sick kids with their Patient Advisory Counsel, graduated high-school a semester early with honors. Hes been all over social media for fundraising for all the non profits that mean the most to him. He just lead a campaign with Starlight Children's Foundation and EB Games over Christmas where he wrote and made a video for Starlight and attended live events to promote it. He deserves this final wish to come true, he's putting in the work to still be alive for it we are asking his community to PLEASE help get him there.
All we ask is you donate any amount if you can, and if you cannot please share so someone who can donate may see this.
