We’re in a housing crisis!
Donation protected
Y’all,
I’m still happy to see you despite the circumstances.
But we’re in a housing crisis. The past season as we’ve relocated to Asheville the hoops have been endless to jump through in navigating stability and housing.
We have less than a month to find a new home right after having found what we thought would be a sustainable living situation. Honestly, when you don’t meet the initial criteria that makes you eligible to rent or own property your best bet is a miracle that’s usually with terms that leave you with the least amount of rights. You take what you can get in this environment.
Its a shock to your system this amount of crisis and we hope to get some help to move through this. So we can get back into the flow of Dreamboat Cafe making it a home for all bodies but particularly our queer and trans folks!
I say it all the time while driving or walking around here, that I’m astonished of how displaced some folks are and how others are thriving. Unfortunately we’re some of the people that have been deeply impacted by the lack of housing and more so the access to it.
This is the last thing we expected. It’s brought a lot of grief to what should be peace of mind and we’re trying our best to navigate the effects it continues to take on our mental health.
Though we’re asking for help we also ask that you don’t equate us to our struggles and rather see that it could happen to you.
We’re deeply excited to move through this with the least amount of pain necessary.
I cant thank you enough, for continuing to help Dreamboat Cafe grow into a home for everyone.
Cant wait to shower you with love at our next pop up dinner.
We know we’re not the only ones being affected by the recession, housing
And mental health crisis and appreciate any help offered.
Ways to help us:
- donate here
- send words of encouragement that this to shall pass
- other forms of love notes
- tips and suggestions on navigating leasing offices
all of our love truly all of it,
Dreamboat Cafe
