Vladimirs Fight against Lung cancer
This GoFundMe is to provide and support my family and father, Vladimir Pishtoy. As many of you have recently heard, my dear father, Vladimir Pishtoy has been recently diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer.
This devastating journey began on October 26th when Vladimir began coughing up large amounts of mucus and blood. CT scan shortly after showed a large mass in the upper left lobe of the lung.
The family had high hopes that this was benign, or perhaps has not spread yet but the PET scan confirmed that the cancerous cells had long reached most areas of his bones--tumors are seen in the arms, thighs, pelvis, along the spine, and ribs.
You see, my father had never been a smoker. He had never even drank but always persevered to lead a healthy life, blessing many along his path.
Currently, Vladimir is the sole provider for the family and is loved oh so dearly by his wife, 3 daughters, and 1 son.
Only at the age of 54, the dreams he has, have not yet come to life. He dreams to hold his unborn future grandchild, to walk his daughters down the aisle of their weddings, to see his 16 year old son graduate high school.
We pray and hope God Almighty prolongs his life to see these things.
The family is currently residing in Rochester, NY. Vladimir is hoping to start treatment consisting of immunotherapy and alternative methods in the coming weeks. The treatments suggested by the oncologist at URMC so far are limited but include a novel drug, atezolizumab. The drug is to be injected IVF every 3 weeks. Medical procedures and ongoing bills require a large amount of finances that my father and family simply don't have.
These funds will go to my mother, Svetlana Pishtoy and the family for medical copays and monthly bills including but not limited to: rent and utilities. Vladimir Pishtoy has worked hard his whole life to support the family being the sole provider and currently his health is not permitting him to travel for work as he simply does not have the strength or physical ability to do so yet.
