Honoring the life of Vittorio Garcia

Hello, my name is Lisa, and I am creating this GoFundMe to honor the life and memory of someone who meant the world to me—Vittorio Garcia. At just 30 years old, Vittorio fought an unimaginable battle with brain cancer for the second time in four years.

In April 2024, we learned the devastating news that the cancer had returned, more aggressive than before. It had invaded deeper into the basal ganglia, taking away many of Vittorio’s abilities. He faced a rare and challenging form of cancer called IDH Mutant Astrocytoma with incredible courage, humility, and kindness—just as he lived his life.

While creating this GoFundMe to support Vittorio and his family, we received the heartbreaking news that Vittorio passed away that very same day. Our hearts are shattered, but his memory will forever inspire us.

Vittorio’s family has been by his side every step of the way, selflessly devoting themselves to his care. Many of them put their lives and jobs on hold to ensure Vittorio was surrounded by love and support during his battle. Now, they are facing significant financial challenges, including funeral costs and the expenses they incurred while caring for Vittorio.

Vittorio always had a heart for helping others—he raised money every year for Hats for Hope. Now, it’s our turn to give back in his memory.

This fundraiser is to help ease the burden on his family during this devastating time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go toward funeral arrangements and supporting his family as they navigate this loss.
