It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Francess Macauley . She died on Sunday September 23rd 2018.
We met Francess while we were all students at Fourah Bay College (FBC) in the late 80s, and we all clicked immediately. She was an outgoing person who studied hard but all socialized hard . Her days at FBC we’re memorable as she had many friends . One of those she formed a very lasting sisterly friendship was Aina Wright currently residing in Sierra Leone. The late Francess and I knew each other at the Annie Walsh and later ended up as roommates in our final year at FBC together with Fatima Sessay who currently resides in London.
After graduating from FBC, she taught at her Alma Mater the Annie Walsh Memorial School before leaving for Banjul , Gambia where she taught for few years before she returned home.
Sadly over the last years , Francess got ill and went through some very challenging years. Despite her illness, she remained positive and kept in touch with her friends .
It is therefore in memory of late Francess that we would like to set up and start this ‘ GO FUND ME’ account.
All contributions received will be sent to her family as a token from her AWMS/ FBC friends worldwide.
Thanking you in advance for your generous contribution.
As we use to say during our FBC days
“ Francess was indeed an Ally”.
