"Destination Imagination, Inc. is a leading educational nonprofit dedicated to teaching students the skills needed to succeed in school, their careers and beyond."
DI presents teams with project-based challenges of their choices that mix STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) with the arts.
As the students are working through their chosen challenge they learn some invaluable skills in the process including:
Creative & Critical Thinking
Team Building
Problem Solving
Risk Taking
Project Management
Perseverance
Self-Confidence
On March 24th, our talented group of 5th graders took their ideas and hard work and brought it to the CT Destination Imagination stage to be judged. At the end of a long, fun day of competition they came out with 1st prize for the Elementary Level for their selected challenge!
They had to design & create their own costumes, props, and skit without any assistance from their team leaders. They learned how to work better as a team. Listen to new ideas, and not be afraid to try something new.
They are now given the opportunity to compete at Globals 2018 in Knoxville Tennessee! Here they will meet other students from all over the country plus 14 other countries! Attend creativity workshops, explore STEM exhibits, and compete on a national level.
It' a phenomenal experience that we can only offer this great group of kids with your help!
Every little bit helps! Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
Sincerely,
The Smarteez!
