Urgent Surgery for Duckleberry Finn

Duckleberry Finn is a domestic duck (Rouen) who was abandoned and injured at a public pond two weeks ago. He was spotted by a kind member of the public who watches over the wildlife at McKinley pond in Sacramento, CA, who has been trying to catch him this whole time. He was unable to get out of the water except for on the island, and barely able to swim with one working leg. He eventually got hungry enough to come close to the rescuer for food which is when he was finally caught. He has a femur fracture...was he kicked? Possibly, as that is one of the strongest bones in the body. The break is now two weeks old and requires surgery. Let's help this poor bird be able to swim and walk again. A good home will be found to place him in as he recovers. Thank you for your compassion!
