URGENT Support needed for a black queer sibling

We are setting up this GoFundMe for a dear friend and beloved member of the queer community. Due to the nature of the situation, and the circumstances surrounding it, they have asked for their identity to be kept anonymous for their safety.
 
This has been an excruciatingly painful past week for our friend who we’ll refer to from now on as X. They were on separate occasions, drugged, sexually assaulted, gay bashed and robbed while staying in NYC. Thankfully they survived the attacks and are safe. Nevertheless, they are going to need support with medical bills, therapy, and other expenses. We want to ensure that beyond just their immediate needs that they are able to focus on healing and taking the time that they need to process this without any additional financial burden.  

Our heartbreaks for our friend and we are, as we’re sure anyone reading this will be, beyond devastated to hear of more senseless, violent attacks on a queer community member. No one should have to live in fear for expressing themselves or question the validity of being authentic to themselves. Words cannot begin to express the rage and sorrow that comes to mind hearing that anyone, let alone someone who we love and cherish as deeply as X, has had to endure such a traumatic course of events. Someone who has always been, and will no doubt continue to be, a shining light in the life of everyone who is privileged enough to cross paths with them.
