Dave has had over thirty surgeries, and currently is in need of another MRI and potentially more surgeries. Due to losing a substantial amount of weight (he is 6’ 2” an weighed 126 pounds at his lowest), he has a constant feeding tube that costs $75 a month, not including the food supplies. Without the feeding tube, he would lose the weight again and have the risk of his organs failing. The Medigap insurance Dave does have costs $144 a month and is not sustainable for them to continue with. His wife, Beverly, was the sole supporter of the household and was just let go from her job. Dave needs to meet with the orthopedics to determine his next steps, whether that means more surgeries or not, but without insurance they can afford or an income they can’t make these appointments.
