Upgrading Equipment

Donation protected
Police Chief Harold Smith, of the City of Knox Police Department, is looking into updating his department’s Non-Lethal Tasers. The current issued Tasers used by the department are more than 14 years old and have become outdated making the Tasers non-repairable.

Due to current budget reductions, the department does not have the funds to purchase the new updated equipment. The Taser is an extremely valuable tool for law enforcement which has proven time and time again in aiding officers with the deescalating potentionally violent confrontations.

The City of Knox Police Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in accomplishing the goal of raising these funds, which will aid them in staying with the tradition of providing our community with the best services available.

Sweeney-Julian Trial Attorneys, a regional personal injury law firm out of South Bend, Indiana has graciously offered  to match the funds that are raised (up to a certain amount) in order to assist the City of Knox Police Department with their purchase of newly updated Non-Lethal Tasers

On behalf of the City of Knox Police Officers, Chief Smith would like to thank everyone in advance for their support in aiding the department in working towards achieving their goal.
