University of Manitoba Aggies Bedpush Fundraiser!

The UofM Aggies are gearing up for their annual Bedpush Fundraiser!

Each year a group of Aggies head on the road driving across Manitoba; pushing a bed through towns along the way in efforts to raise money for select well-deserving charities.

This year we have chosen the STARS Foundation and the Manitoba Farmers Wellness Program to receive a 50/50 split of all donations raised! Both of these charities hit close to home for us Aggies.

Many of us live in rural communities and having a foundation such as STARS is more often than not, the difference between life and death. STARS can provide you with the help you or a loved one may need. They are there for you on what could be the worst day of your life. “Critical care, anywhere”.

The Manitoba Farmers Wellness Program offers counselling to the farmers of Manitoba. Mental health is often a silent struggle for many people, farmers especially. Many feel that there is a stigma when it comes to mental health, especially asking for help. Their program offers many different types of counselling, that is farm specific. They understand that it is hard to talk to someone who doesn't understand your struggles, that's why they focus on “farmers helping farmers”.

We are very proud to support and fundraise for these charities!

This year the Aggies will be travelling to 19 towns across southwest Manitoba!
