Uniting to Improve Our Xavier High School-Micronesia

Donation protected
My name is Universe Yamase Lawrence, and I am a graduate of Xavier High School, class of 2007. Before I stepped foot on Xavier High School, I was not motivated in my schooling. I had no care to do even a school book report. I had no excitement in school, and no ambition. Looking back, I am thankful to my father for wanting my sister and I to attend Xavier High School, and said "you will apply to Xavier High School." We took the Xavier High School entrance exam, passed, and with God's blessings we both entered the Freshman Class of 2003.

When I began as a student at Xavier High School, the school's student body, the teachers, the school traditions, prayer services, and the learning environment breathed in a new life into me. The school challenged me in so many ways like my character, spirituality, academics, leadership, and in sports. I was then excited about everything which then got me to think about my own personal goals. I would not have succeeded as a student without the foundations built in me as early as 13 years old. Xavier's faculty, staff, the Jesuit priests, and the student body molded me and others to be prepared for what life had beyond its grounds and oceans. Many graduated and had "set the world on fire".

This small school, so isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, continues to help our communities across Micronesia by teaching students to be competent and consciencious citizens so they may in the future be beacons of hope for their communities, their islands, and essentially, their respective island nation. God bless Xavier High School for continuing to breathe new life into students since 1952.

Xavier High School had done so much for us and our communities, and I hope we can come together as a Xavier Alumni Community and Friends to help. Any amount you contribute impacts each person learning and teaching on Mabuchi Hill.

The school Principal shared a list of what the students' needs are, and here are some of the following items:

1. The student kitchen needs a new stove/oven, food warmers, filters for drinking water, a clean dishwashing system, and an upgraded storage room;
2. New student lockers;
3. New windows in the study hall; and
4. Solar AC for the study hall.

From East to West, with utmost thanks I say, Kommol Tata, Kuloh, Kalangan, Kinisou Chapur, Kalangan Lap, Kammagar, and Ke mesulang.

Sincerely,
Alumni 07'
