Unexpected 2nd Surgery For Jason
Donation protected
I don't really know how to start this. Asking for help is never easy but when it's for a man who VERY MUCH hates asking for help, it's even harder.
As some of you might know, Jason had hernia surgery on the 21st of December (2022). He has been recovering at home and has been recovering quite well. He was slated to go back to work on February 1st (2023) and was so ready to get back to the jobs he had to put off. Unfortunately, back at the beginning of January, he ended up tearing the meniscus on the inside of his left knee. He, like his father, likes to sit with his foot underneath him. Well, when he went to get up from his chair, his foot got caught in his sweatpants, and when he went to pull harder to free his foot, he thinks that is when he tore it.
His doctor had him go in for an MRI when icing his knee for over a week didn't help his pain. After looking the scan over his doctor confirmed our fear. That he indeed did tear something. We met with an Orthopedic surgeon last week and they confirmed that he did tear his meniscus and that surgery would be needed. Today we scheduled his knee surgery for February 6 which is just 5 days after the date his hernia surgeon gave him the all-clear to go back to work. Also, because of the 5 days that will come between the "all clear" and the knee surgery, his disability policy will not be of any help as they are considering them 2 separate instances and claims. This means the 30-day elimination period, unfortunately, starts over on February 6th.
To say that the last 4 plus weeks for Jason have been hard, would be an understatement. If you know him you know he wants to support his family and being off work since last month has really been hard for him. And now, knowing he is facing another surgery and another 4-6 weeks without work has taken the wind out of his sails.
Thankfully we had some amazing people and our Church behind us when we faced Jason's hernia surgery, but financially we don't know how we can face another 4 to 6 weeks of income loss for Jason. So humbly we are reaching out to you, our friends, and our family.
I know these days times are tight for everyone. Inflation is outrageous and is really taking a toll on everyone. We totally understand and ask that if you can't financially help or if helping us would make things tight financially for you and your family please don't donate. Prayers for a successful surgery for Jason and recovery time would be so appreciated instead. We know God will see us through. ❤️
We are just asking for enough to cover our immediate bills for February/early March, in hopes that with my new job and his recovery going well and hopefully being able to get back to small/easier jobs towards the middle of March that we will be covered going forward. Either way, we appreciate you and the time you took to read our request for help. We are grateful to have such an amazing tribe behind and beside us.
