Olá, pessoal. Gostaria de atualizar todos vocês e, antes de tudo, agradecer de coração a cada pessoa que contribuiu e compartilhou a vaquinha. Vocês foram incríveis. Tenho certeza de que o Saul ficaria muito feliz em ver o quanto era amado e querido por tantas pessoas. Também gostaria de compartilhar que a família tomou a linda decisão de doar os órgãos dele. Eles acreditam que essa é exatamente a escolha que o Saul gostaria que fosse feita, já que, durante a vida, sempre fez questão de ajudar o próximo. A família também optou pela cremação, que acontecerá após o velório e a missa, no sábado. Uma das irmãs está vindo do Brasil para acompanhar esse momento e será responsável por levar parte das cinzas para a família. Outra parte permanecerá na Irlanda e será espalhada em um lugar que o Saul gostava muito. Sobre a vaquinha, o valor arrecadado será utilizado para cobrir os custos do funeral e as despesas da irmã que está vindo do Brasil para buscar as cinzas. O valor restante será destinado à família, que também pretende fazer uma doação para a instituição You in Africa, da qual o Saul fez parte e pela qual tinha muito carinho. Quero reforçar que prestarei contas de toda a arrecadação, compartilhando os recibos e os comprovantes de pagamento e de transferência, para que tudo seja feito com total transparência. Mais uma vez, meu mais sincero obrigado a todos que ajudaram, contribuíram, compartilharam e enviaram mensagens de apoio. Todo esse carinho fez diferença e trouxe muito conforto à família neste momento tão difícil.


Hello everyone, I’d like to give you all an update and, first of all, thank each and every one of you who donated to and shared the fundraiser. Your kindness and generosity have been incredible. I’m sure Saul would be deeply touched to see how loved he was by so many people. I would also like to let you know that his family made the beautiful decision to donate his organs. They truly believe this is what Saul would have wanted, as he spent his life helping others whenever he could. The family has also chosen cremation, which will take place after the funeral service and Mass on Saturday. One of Saul’s sisters is travelling from Brazil to be with the family during this difficult time and will take part of his ashes back to Brazil. Another part of his ashes will remain in Ireland and will be scattered in a place that Saul loved. Regarding the fundraiser, the money raised will be used to cover the funeral expenses and the travel costs for Saul’s sister to come from Brazil and take his ashes home. The remaining funds will be given to his family, who also intend to make a donation to the You in Africa organisation, where Saul volunteered and which was very close to his heart. I also want to reassure everyone that I will provide a full accounting of how the funds are used, including receipts and proof of payments and transfers, so that everything is handled with complete transparency. Your compassion has meant more than words can express and has brought great comfort to Saul’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
