Ultimate Search and Rescue Drone
Donation protected
From 1992 to 2007, there were an average of more than 10 search and rescue incidents every day, costing millions of dollars and resulting in nearly 3000 fatalities. In many of these situations, it is dangerous and costly to send rescue workers into these high risk areas. One potential solution is to use a single passenger drone to autonomously air lift people out of catastrophe sites. With current drone technologies we can easily and safely send a vehicle over many obstacles that would impede terrestrial and aquatic vehicles, for a much lower price than a helicopter. Based on my experience with large scale, made-from-scratch drones, I believe that I can build a prototype vehicle capable of carrying a 250 pound payload (a relatively large person) several miles to safely. And all for less than $25,000.
