Hi friends,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart, but also with so much love and gratitude. For those who know me, you know that my 11-year-old Rottweiler, MJ, is more than just a pet—she’s my soul dog. She’s been by my side through thick and thin, always loyal, always loving. She’s a part of our family in a way words can’t fully describe.

In January, we received the heartbreaking news that MJ had cancer. Since then, she’s been fighting like the warrior she is. A month ago, MJ had to have her right front leg amputated in order to fight the cancer. We’ve watched her bounce back with strength and determination, but recently we’ve learned that the cancer is spreading.

Despite everything, MJ continues to show us her incredible spirit. She still greets us with love, enjoys her favorite treats, and reminds us every day what it means to be resilient. But this journey hasn’t been easy, and we’re doing everything we can to keep her comfortable and surrounded by love.

The reality is that this has put a serious strain on us financially. My partner and I have both had to take a lot of time off work to care for her and support her recovery, and we’re now struggling to keep up. We still owe $5,000 to the hospital for her surgery. As we look ahead, we want to ensure MJ gets the peaceful and loving send-off she deserves — ideally through in-home euthanasia, so she can be in her comfort zone and surrounded by the people who love her most.

I never imagined having to ask for help like this, but MJ means the world to us — and to so many who know her.
