Lyla is a single mum of four children, 2 of whom are still very young only 6 and 12years. She has an older daughter who is doing all she can being so young herself is finding it very difficult.
Lyla hasn't had the easiest life, suffering from the effects of Drought almost destroying her farm and having to sell some of her stock, To Finally leaving a DV marriage after 8 years of suffering, Finally finding herself again sorting life for her and her boys, One of which has Autism and now suffers with PTSD ,
She found herself feeling unwell thinking it was just lady troubles but nobody prepared us for this.
She lives on a Hobby farm with her little fella's home schools them both, And ran a cleaning business.They live in a little out back town on the Darling Downs in QLD.
She has just been diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer which has spread to her Lymph nodes. She is in for the fight of her life. Her closest hospital Warwick doesn't deal with Cancer Patient's . Towoomba is the next major Hospital, almost an hour drive from home away. They don't deal with cervical cancer patients :(
The Mater in Brisbane 1.5 hours away from home is the only hospital that can deal with her treatment, Unless she goes private closer to home.
Sadly Lyla has had to hang up the cleaning gloves she simply isn't well enough to continue. She can't afford to go private, Run her farm take care of her boys and pay her bills.
On top of everything else pay for either accommodation in close to the Mater for 6 weeks. Or pay for private treatment. And or travel daily for hours for treatment.
We have had our differences god knows though wen life gets tough we somehow find our way back to each other. I can't help her financially i have my own young family. I have to help somehow so here i am. My Nephews need their Mummy, Her daughters need their mother, I need my Sister, My goal is to try and get private Treatment closer to home. Having the comforts of home whilst fighting for ur life is so important. Having less stress around u is also so very important, Lyla needs Radiation and Chemo Therapy to give her the best chance at fighting this. As well as treatment she has the upkeep of her hobby farm to maintain. Now not working and her stressing over how she will survive won't help her fight this.
She's a proud Mother one who never asks for hand outs but would give u the shirt off her back and has done so for many, I wan't to make life for her a little less stressful at this time, And take away just some of the stresses and financial burden. Every little bit will help us achieve private treatment closer to home. This is my goal, She can't be away from her boys and her home for 6 weeks trying to fight this and endure treatment on her own. If u know Lyla u know she won't cope being away nor will her children. Not only that she won't cope with the long travelling as well as the effects of treatment. Staying in a hotel for 6 weeks close to the hospital just isn't practical financially or otherwise. Every little bit helps <3 Thank you to those who donate from the bottom of my heart <3
