Maker Happen - Car for Joel
Please help Joel out! His car was stolen at the Nation of Makers conference (NOMCON) in Chattanooga, TN.
His car was found by the Police with the back window busted out, tires missing, damage to the exterior. We're not sure of the extent of the damage to the actual functionality of the car yet - but the insurance company he works with is going to call the vehicle totaled. (He will get a very little sum of money for it.)
All of the items he had in his vehicle (he was ready to head out from NOMCON) were stolen (computer, tools, clothing, etc.).
He estimates it will cost $10k to get a vehicle that is reliable that he can travel the country in for the next 3+ years.
We would like to raise up enough money to get him a vehicle so that he can continue to do this important work. Joel often does what he does without receiving financial compensation for his outreach. Please consider giving.
If you have a vehicle that you would consider donating to him or selling to him at a reasonable cost, please reach out. He is looking for something along the lines of a scion, minivan or SUV. Any funds above and beyond the cost of the vehicle will be given to Joel to cover his travel costs.
