Let's help Amy!

UPDATE AS OF Jan 20, 2024. After many tests, it seems as though Amy has an issue with her nervous system, which may or may not be temporary. She has started on medication, which will have to be monitored until it reaches the correct therapeutic level. Therefore, she is still unable to return to work until it starts working as it should. She still has some nausea, although it is 75% better, and is able to eat some now. She is working on building up her strength so that she can do her best to get back to normal. It still may be a while yet, as this has taken much longer than anticipated. Amy has appreciated all of the donations that she's received, as they have been a huge help with medical bills and expenses. However, with no paycheck yet, any help you may like to provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, I am starting this Go Fund Me account for Amy Keaton Racel by her sister & friends. Amy is kind, loving, and hardworking. She is a wonderful sister, Mom & friend, always giving and helping others. She has been self-employed by assisting others for the past 25 years.

Now Amy needs our help. On July 15, 2023 she fell down the stairs at her home & broke her left wrist badly which led to emergency surgery. On July 22, 2023 Amy had a diverticulitis attack that lingered and sent her to the ER twice. However, at the end of August, Amy seemed to be healing well.

On Sept. 5, 2023 Amy woke up to overwhelming nausea. As of today, 11/10/23, she is still suffering severe nausea daily. It is constant and debilitating and is also causing severe anxiety. Amy hasn't been able to eat, losing 23 pounds. She is living on Boost, Carnation Breakfast drinks, Gatorade, and water. She's been to the ER 4x for fluids. She has also been unable to attend PT to help heal her wrist.

Amy has been to her main doctor, 2 gastro doctors, and had an appointment with an endocrinologist last week. She has had multiple tests run and so far, no one has found the cause of the nausea. She's had multiple blood tests, endoscopy, colonoscopy, CAT Scan, 2 gallbladder tests, gastroparesis test and brain MRI. The results from the endocrinologist should be in nest week, but so far, nothing definitive.

While they continue looking for answers, Amy has been unable to work for almost 4 months and has no idea when she'll be able to return to work. Amy has only minimal insurance and the medical bills are starting to come in.

However even more DIRE are her needs to pay her mortgage, utilities, and other monthly bills to survive. She's had tough times before, but this is past a "quick financial recovery" this time. Amy's biggest fear is losing her home of 25 years.
