Hi, my name is Flo and I am 8 years old.
I am a regular visitor to the residents of Oxendon House during weekends and school holidays. Sometimes on a school day, I ask my mum "Can i stay off school and come to work with you?" but mum says "No, you have to go to school today." I like to come and help with activities and enjoy chatting and playing games with the residents. We do lots of things like playing dominoes, art and reading. My favorite thing to do is baking. At Christmas i helped wrap all the residents presents from Santa. All of the residents and staff at Oxendon House always ask when I am coming back next and I always say "As soon as I can!".
I am going to do a big walk with my mum to raise money for the activity fund so the residents (and me when I come) can have more things to enjoy. I have done big walks before but this is the biggest one I have done yet. It is 6 miles long and at the highest point I will be standing 517 meters above sea level, its a good job I am not afraid of heights!
In March, we will be walking from Castleton to Mam tor in the peak district, this walk is a circular walk so mum says when we will leave some chocolate in the car to motivate us on our way back. I have chosen to try and raise £250 but if we get more donations than that then that will be even better! Mum says we will watch the weather and choose the date at the end of February/start of March to make the walk as safe as possible for us.
Thankyou for reading my page and please donate if you can.
Love from Flo
