Hi my name is Alix Polywkan (Takara’s almost mother in law) and I am doing this on behalf of Tracy and Takara
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, our family was forever changed.
Troy Tompkins was attending an annual memorial motorcycle ride to honor a friend when tragedy struck. At just 54 years old, Troy lost his life in a devastating motorcycle accident, leaving behind the two people who loved him most—his wife, Tracy, and his daughter, Takara.
No family is ever prepared for a loss like this. In a single moment, Tracy and Takara's world was turned upside down, and they are now facing the heartbreaking reality of planning a funeral while trying to process an unimaginable loss.
Many of you know and love Takara as one of Nanaimo's exceptional massage therapists. As someone who is self-employed, taking time away from work to be with her family also means losing her income. Right now, being in Revelstoke with her mom is exactly where she needs to be—to grieve, support Tracy, and begin navigating life without Troy.
We're asking for help to ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward funeral and memorial expenses, travel between Nanaimo and Revelstoke, lost income while Takara is away from work, and the everyday expenses that don't stop, even in the midst of grief.
If you knew Troy, you know the kind of man he was. He was kind, generous, hardworking, and someone who would never hesitate to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He touched the lives of so many people, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, your support will help give Tracy and Takara one less thing to worry about as they begin the difficult journey of healing. If you're unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, your prayers, your generosity, and for surrounding Tracy and Takara with the support they need during the most difficult time of their lives.
