Tori (Hollins) Given has been living her best life. Many years of hard work and dedication have started to finally pay off. She has begun to realize serious progress in her career as a stylist at the Atlanta metro area's largest and most elite hair salon, where she shares her skills, her smile, and her laughter with customers and colleagues alike. With her sharp wit and ambitious goals, she was traveling the country with the salon leadership, whom she loves, teaching other stylists how to achieve their dreams and become a true "Lady Boss". Topping it all off, Tori just recently married the man she has been in love with for over 7 years, and has even started talking about having children. Aside from the 2020 pandemic, life was looking up!
Things quickly changed when, after just 2 weeks as a newlywed, Tori was stricken with a sudden and very serious medical emergency, requiring her to be hospitalized for an indeterminate period of time. Even now, she is still in the hospital as her doctors diligently work to determine the cause and find a solution for her condition.
Although Tori has health insurance, there is an out of pocket maximum that she will need to pay. More importantly, her job as a stylist has been temporarily impacted. Further, her dutiful husband took much time off work as well to support her and advocate for her recovery. Combined, this has led to a sudden and significant increase in debt, and an equally sudden and significant decline in income.
