Tom Farnquist - Lung Transplant

Hello everyone, we are doing a fundraiser to assist our stepfather Tom Farnquist with medical expenses while he undergoes a lung transplant.  He received confirmation from Duke University Hospital that he has been accepted.  Tom and my mom will need to relocate to Durham, North Carolina for a minimum of three months.

Tom was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2009. With medication he had been able to keep this disease from progressing.  Unfortunately the medication is no longer working and the disease has progressed rapidly.  There is no known cause for this disease but it has not been ruled out that it could be related to his many years of diving.  Without a transplant it is terminal.

The expenses of relocating for months, along with the medical bills are going to be astronomical. His biggest wish is to spend more time with his family - especially his grandkids so he can be there for all their milestones!

Tom has always been involved in our community in so many ways.  We feel that this a small way to assist him on this very scary journey he has ahead of him.  We will be forever grateful for any assistance given.
