Help Us Save London’s Only Abstinence-Based Addiction Recovery Centre
Every week in London, men reach a moment when they decide they are ready for recovery.
For many, that moment doesn't come twice.
But when they reach out for help, there aren't enough places to go.
Forest City Healing Centre was created to change that.
Today, the building sits ready, but the beds are empty.
This is why we need the community’s support: to reopen London's first inpatient, abstinence-based therapeutic recovery residence.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 by September 2026 to fund the centre's reopening and operations.
Why This Matters
Forest City Healing Centre was founded by people with lived experience of addiction and recovery who understand firsthand what it means to be given a second chance.
Co-founder Drew Weir knows firsthand what recovery means.
Years ago, someone gave him a chance when he needed it most.
That chance changed his life.
Forest City Healing Centre was built so other men could receive that same opportunity.
Today, we're asking the community to help provide that chance again.
The Need is Urgent
Addiction impacts families, workplaces, friendships, and entire communities.
Many people who seek recovery are ready to make a change right now, not months from now.
The reality is that there is often only a small window when someone is willing and able to accept help.
When that person reaches out, the answer should be:
"Yes. We have a place for you."
By reopening Forest City Healing Centre, we can provide safe housing, structured support, recovery programming, peer connection, accountability, and a community built around healing.
What stands between empty beds and people receiving life-changing support is the funding.
A Community Is Coming Together
When Forest City Healing Centre publicly shared its need for support, the response was immediate.
Community members, local organizations, healthcare professionals, business leaders, and advocates stepped forward because they recognized something important:
London needs more recovery-focused mental health support.
We have been honoured to receive support and encouragement from community leaders, including Najla Guthrie, CEO of KGK Science, and many others who believe that recovery services save lives.
But we still need the community’s help to take the next step.
Where Your Donation Goes
Every dollar raised goes directly toward reopening and operating Forest City Healing Centre.
Your donation funds:
* Frontline recovery staff
* Recovery programming and group support
* Safe housing and resident support
* Day-to-day operations required to reopen
Every bed reopened represents an opportunity for someone to reclaim their life.
How You Can Help
Whether you give $25, $100, $500, or more, your donation helps bring us closer to reopening our doors.
If you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, workplace, or social networks can make an enormous difference.
Together, we can ensure that when someone reaches out for help, there is a place waiting for them.
Together, we can strengthen recovery support in London.
Together, we can help save lives.
