Leo's top surgery fundraiser

Dear friend, colleague, a friend I’m yet to meet,

I have created this fundraiser to take the next step towards life-changing surgery.

The last few years have been hugely significant for getting to know myself and freeing myself from living to society's expectations. I celebrate 3 wonderful years on Testosterone (HRT) in January 2026, which has helped me grow into the self-assured, transmasculine person in front of you. There’s still a next step to grow even more into myself, and this is where you can help me.

Because
I long for running my hand down a flat chest,
I long for looking at a photo of me in the pool and not experiencing a wave of sadness that my body doesn’t match my face and the transness within my soul,
I long for a dress shirt running smoothly down my body before I put a tie on,

And honestly,
I perhaps desire to be topless in Sainsburys at least once in my life.

I have been on the GIC waitlist over 2.5 years at the time of writing this (since December 2022), but it still is highly likely to be at least another 6 years before I would get an initial chat with them (prior to any referral for surgery). This is why I am making the vulnerable step to share this fundraiser with you. It’s a little scary, but it’s my dream to be flat-chested by 35 and see my future looking back at me when I look in the mirror. To do this, I need to privately secure my surgery. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost.

I am looking to have surgery in Sweden with Reformkliniken. Initial quotes look like the surgery (plus accommodation, flights & fees) will cost at least 7.7k. This is cheaper than having top surgery here, which would cost upwards of £10k.

Cost breakdown:
Surgery and medication cost: est. £6,071 (see quote below)
2-3 weeks' accommodation for recovery: est. £1,250
Flights/travel to Malmö: est. £150
GoFundMe fees: est. £225ish (if I meet target, 2.9% per transaction)
= £7,696 total

I am grateful to my employer Dogs Trust for giving me a month to recover from surgery and the loved ones who will help me recuperate. And, I am thankful for you, for reading and sharing this, and if you have the means to donate that would mean the world.

Any leftover funds will be given back into the community.

Much love,

Leo x

***Extra note to say, I will be having a top surgery fundraiser on 10th February, 2026, at The Divine, and I hope you can make it <3***
