This go fund me campaign is for the 11… yes eleven kittens we have in our garage. Links below to Facebook posts.. Lots of pictures and videos.
This journey began in June when we discovered 5 kittens and a momma cat a few doors down across the street in an empty but very overgrown lot. We started feeding them immediately back in June and the kittens were already about 2 months old. I built a custom giant drop trap with a floor so we could catch the kittens and the momma together. By the time we were able to catch them it was early August and the kittens were now about 4 months old. We knew that we would need to work with them to get them socialized so they could be adopted so we scheduled them for spay and neuter surgeries at the end of September. Just 2 weeks into captivity, momma had 6 more kittens! We now have 11 kittens...
Feeding all of these kittens for the past for months has been a tremendous expense but we’ve been making it work. Building the trap to catch them cost about $500 and the surgeries and shots for the first 5 kittens was just a little more than $1,000. Momma goes in for her spay in a few weeks now that the new kittens are 6 weeks old and the new kittens go in for their spay and neuters in November. We have spent well over $3,000 so far and we’re expecting at least another $1,500 to $2,000 in expenses before we find homes for everyone.
This has been a labor of love for us, but just as we were taking on this responsibility but the expenses is overwhelming.. Right now we are just asking for any help you can give.
