Theresa York

After suffering with severe abdominal pain since early 2017, Theresa York
(Lobello) was diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer on January 25, 2019.

For the past two years, Theresa was advised by her doctors’ that she was suffering from IBS. Although Theresa continued to follow her doctors’ instructions that involved trying several different diets for IBS, the pain continued. While Theresa persisted on getting a colonoscopy, her medical team advised against it, as they believed the colonoscopy would not reveal anything new or help reduce the pain. Ultimately, Theresa’s persistence to obtain a referral for a colonoscopy would be rejected. Being that Theresa is young and her prior tests did not indicate the presence of cancer, it would be useless to proceed with a colonoscopy. While the pain intensified,
Theresa also began to lose weight rapidly. During a visit to her family physician in November 2018, he became alarmed and insisted that a colonoscopy be ordered. On January 25th a colonoscopy was finally performed and cancer was detected. Not only was Theresa, her family, and friends shocked by the diagnosis, but her medical team were stunned that cancer was found.

The tumor measured around 10.5 centimeters that was followed up by a biopsy that found the cancer cells to be an ‘aggressive medium’. Theresa’s medical team is still in the early process of staging her cancer. Tentatively, her medical team has determined that her treatment will consist of a combination of chemotherapy and radiation (both taking 4 to 6 weeks) then followed up with surgery.

For the past two years Theresa has suffered with agonizing pain, yet she has maintained a positive and upbeat attitude. Anyone who knows Theresa knows that her three children: Dallas (21), Mackenzie (16), and Hayley (14), are her number one priority. We, her family and friends want Theresa to focus all her energy on beating cancer! We believe that by eliminating some of the financial stress involved in paying bills, providing food for her family, and financially supporting her two young daughters will alleviate unnecessary stress for Theresa.

We want Theresa to focus all her time and energy on winning her battle against cancer! Theresa is a fighter and we know that she will pull through this! Cancer will NOT win! Please help Theresa focus on kicking cancers butt!
