The Fire at Thea Alvin's
Donation protected
Thea Alvin, sculptor, artist, teacher, brave woman of great talent and kind heart, lost her entire studio, her vast collection of rare architectural books, and all of her beloved goats and chickens this morning and several buildings in a fast moving fire which started in the barn. She and all the young people who depended upon her for a place to stay are now homeless. Her partner, Mike, lost all his tools, his workshop and a number of projects that he was working on. Half of their house was burned beyond repair. By the grace of god, there were no serious injuries.
They depended on the studios and the small apartments for income. Now they not only have no home but no livlihood.
They need at least $10,000 just to see them through the next few months.
The extent of what Thea needs is vast and still not completely known. You can help them by donating generously. Money is needed immediately for tools, materials, studio rental, a temporary home rental, kitchen stuff, etc.
Please help our neice during this horrific holiday catastrophe!
