Hi. Lauren and Jackey here. We have made this campaign to support our best friends Chris and Candice and their family. Recently, they have been dealt a serious hand. Their oldest daughter Ellie Mae was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma about a year ago. Since that year, Ellie has undergone numerous tests, scans,hospital stays and complications to chemotherapy. Chris and Candice have remained devoted to their family no matter what has happened. Ellie has frequent visits and long stays at CHOP so Candice and Chris split their time between CHOP and taking care of their other 2 children. Although, they have extremely large and loving families, they cannot have any other visitors at the hospital to help them. Therefore,families and friends have been helping from afar. On August 5th, Ellie is going to have her scans to see how her cancer is responding to chemo. As long as it is responding, they will go forward with treatment and the next step is stem cell transplant scheduled for August 20th. They will give her a very high dose of chemo and completely wipe her out and then give her her own stem cells to rescue her. So as of August 20th, they will be inpatient for a month, then home for 3 weeks, then back to inpatient for another month at CHOP. With all of this going on, Chris has managed to buy his family a new home, move them in and work his full time job while he and Candice are splitting their time in the hospital. By creating this campaign, our intention is to help them with any foreseeable hardships they may endure over the next several months. We appreciate all your support.
