The memorial and celebration of life for Benjamin

Donation protected
At just the age of 29, my beloved brother Ben took his own life after a long and heavy battle with schizophrenia. Diagnosed at 18, Ben faced so many struggles, fighting against the debilitating grip of this severe mental illness. For over 11 years, he endured the challenges of living with schizophrenia, navigating the different medications he had to take causing many side affects, difficulties in daily life, and striving tirelessly to lead a normal life despite the overwhelming odds. It was all he ever wanted. To live a normal life.

Ben's journey was incredibly difficult but he had courage and resilience which I truly admire. He faced each day with a determination that inspired those around him. Especially me. However, this past year, the weight of his illness became unbearable. Despite his fearless efforts, Ben's sense of hopelessness grew more and more as he fought for the life he wished for but felt was slipping further away.

Despite all his challenges, my brother was the kindest person you could ever meet. He cared for others with complete selflessness and was the most genuine person I knew. He was always willing to help anyone in need and stood by me no matter the circumstance. He rarely complained and kept his pain to himself. He was loving, intelligent, and truly special. He loved to laugh, and his favorite thing was spending time with the people he loved.

Our family has been heartbroken by Ben's passing. In the wake of this tragedy, we wish to honor Ben's memory with a celebration of life, a gathering where we can come together to remember and cherish the moments we shared with him. This celebration will be a testament to his spirit, resilience, and the love he brought into our lives.

We are reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals for support in making this celebration of life possible. Your generous contributions will help us cover the costs associated with organizing a meaningful and heartfelt memorial event. Any additional funds raised will be donated to mental health organizations to support others who are battling similar struggles.

Your support will go directly towards:

-Arranging a celebration of life event to honor Ben's memory.
-Creating a space where loved ones can gather to share stories, offer support, and find comfort.
-Contributing to mental health organizations that provide critical resources and services for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions.

By coming together, we can celebrate Ben's life, acknowledge his struggles, and extend our support to those who continue to fight similar battles.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this difficult time. It would mean the world to honor Ben's memory and work towards a world where no one has to face the battle against mental illness alone.

With heartfelt gratitude,
His sister Stephanie

It’s with a heavy heart I’m creating this go fund me for my best friend Stephanie and her amazing mom Sonoko- for the memorial and celebration of life for their brother & son- Benjamin. Benjamin was tragically lost last week 4/27/2024- He was 29years old and the sweetest soul you’d ever meet. His laugh was contagious and he loved being with people and talking about life. His absence is greatly felt with pain and love. I’m making this go fund me to help with any expenses that may come about for the celebration of life and memorial as well as to take care of Benjamin’s family in their time of mourning. Anything is greatly appreciated.
