The Lassandro Family fight ATC
Donation protected
Jason has been fighting anaplastic thyroid cancer since December. Anaplastic thyroid cancer is very rare and very aggressive. After completing radiation about a month ago in conjunction with a targeted immunotherapy with very promising clinical outcomes, we were encouraged that the disease was being effectively treated. Unfortunately, a scan this week has shown cancer in his lungs is growing and spreading. It appears as though systemic therapy is not working. We are not without hope as we go to UPENN to discuss additional treatment options and clinical trials.
It is important to note that our support community is beyond phenomenal and Jason's company has amazing insurance. So, we are much better off than so many others going through this journey. At the end of last year, I had a very large contract that covered a big three-month gap between Jason and me not working during the intensity of radiation treatment. Countless people have generously given us gift cards, money, meals, and so much other support (even a new bed and a stove! and seriously generous fund raisers through our Schuylkill Valley School District). We are so very thankful.
Yet, the bills are piling up and as a consultant, I only bring in an income if I bill hours. Which I have done very little of since the diagnosis. As we enter into this new season of our fight, we have reached the point of seeking the continued generosity of others.
Please - do not feel obligated to donate. So many have already given so much to us. And so many of you are facing your own hard times. I have zero doubt that God will provide over the coming days and months. If you feel called to help - whether financially, through prayer, healing thoughts, or with an encouraging word -- please know how very, very much gratitude fills our hearts for each and every one of you.
