The Jelly Fund (Help my Heart Stay Strong!)
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
For the past year and a half you may have noticed a four legged shadow following me wherever I go. Bella, affectionately called Jelly (she gets jealous of people giving me attention and not her.) was rescued from a shelter in upstate NY and has been loving her life chasing tennis balls up and down the jersey shore ever since. Unfortunately, a routine dental check-up has led to the discovery of something much more serious. Today, after two months of waiting to see a cardiologist, Bella was diagnosed with patent ductus arterious. PDA is a congenital abnormality that has never been brought to my attention until now (the shelter she was rescued from and vet in NY never disclosed this information.) The vet has recommended that Bella be seen for surgery ASAP in order to prevent total heart failure. I was told that if Bella does not undergo the procedure in the very near future she risks her life being cut drastically short from years of healthy living to less than a year. I think it is safe to say that anyone who has met Bella/Jelly can only speak on how happy and energetic she is. From her famous Jelly hugs to her happy chirps, she can always find a way to light up a room.
Here comes the fun part! Many of you also are aware that I recently became an occupational therapist. However, this news comes while I am still applying to jobs and trying to establish myself. The world, for all of us, is in a crazy and unpredictable state at the moment. While personal financial obligations must be met first, I am hoping that you may consider donating any amount to The Jelly Fund so that Bella can continue enjoying her life chasing tennis balls on the beach. All excess funds will be donated to the ASPCA in hopes of giving other pets a better life.
Thank you all for your time.
