The Democracy & Citizen Participation Book

Hi. My name is Jeff Mitchell and I would like to ask for your monetary support in kick-starting a book project that we're calling The Democracy and Citizen Participation Book that will look at the state of democracy and participatory citizenship in our city,  state and country.  I am looking to raise $2,000 to defray expenses. I come at this project not as a partisan but as an award-winning politics and government journalist who has been on that beat for 25 years. My intention is to drill down on why we increasingly don't vote and/or attend meetings or otherwise participate in our collective governance when our very freedom depends on it.  Our intention is to make this book more of a go-to guide assisting you in navigating the complex world of local, state and federal government. We also want to give you a sense of what your increased involvement can mean for your community. Any amount you could donate to support the project would be sincerely appreciated.
