The Darbonne Family
Donation protected
Beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Daniel Darbonne passed away unexpectedly in his home on May 15, 2023.
Daniel leaves behind his loving family - his wife Tanya and their five sons: Blaze, Chase, Justus, Luke, and Zane.
Daniel and his family came to Juneau about 7 years ago from New Orleans, LA where he worked for the New Orleans Police Department, the Loyola Campus Police, and Gretna City Police Department. He also worked a short stint for the U.S.Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Division.
Daniel wanted to get away from the rampant crime in New Orleans and wanted to raise his family in a better environment, so he applied for and was hired by the Juneau Police Department. Daniel worked as a patrol officer at JPD and then transferred to the Criminal Investigations Unit where he worked as a Detective for nearly five years. He was a great detective because he poured his heart into his cases.
As passionate as Daniel was about his job, the most important things to Daniel were God and his family. He was a devout Christian who often preached both at work and at church. If you ever had the opportunity to hear one of Daniel’s sermons at church, you would have seen how full of the Lord’s Spirit he was when he preached! Daniel’s sermons were thunderous and full of joy and love.
Daniel’s family was everything to him so his family time was something he held as very precious. Anytime there was some activity outside of normal work hours, it would be rare for Daniel to participate, only because he disliked being taken away from his family time. Daniel would often say, “I ain’t got enough butter for that, ain’t no one like no dry toast!”
Daniel would often talk about his wife Tanya, his high school sweetheart, who always took good care of him. Tanya would often send Daniel to work with some delicious leftover Cajun food, which he happily shared with whoever wanted to try some.
Daniel would also talk about the antics of raising five boys, three of whom were teenagers. He was very proud of his sons and often spoke about their amazing accomplishments, both in sports and in music. Being a strong husband and father was very important for Daniel and he led his family with his unstoppable faith in Jesus.
Daniel was the main financial provider for his family. The sudden, unexpected, and tragic loss of Daniel has put his family not only in overwhelming grief but also under serious financial strain.
This fundraiser is to support Tanya and her sons while she transitions to this next phase of life. Any financial donation you can provide will greatly help their situation. They are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support for their family and I know Daniel would be too!
