THE BECKY DEHAAS - LEGACY FUND

Friends and family of Becky DeHaas have created this fund to support Natalia and Alex as they continue pursuing the passions that shaped their lives and connected them so deeply to their mom.

Our hearts are open and tender as we process the passing of our beloved friend, Rebecca “Becky” DeHaas — a woman whose strength, grace, and quiet bravery inspired everyone who crossed her path. Becky wasn’t just kind and radiant; she was a force. She met life head-on, with courage and conviction, and she taught her children to do the same.

Even in the hardest year of her life, she showed what true resilience looks like. In the summer of 2025, while undergoing treatment, Becky achieved Reserve Champion Overall in Ontario with her young horse Campari. It was a staggering achievement — and such a pure reflection of who she was: devoted, tough, gifted, and determined. She lived life to the fullest. Every single day.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, celebrated artist Rob Saley, and their extraordinary children, Natalia (21) and Alex (15), who carry that same rare inner fire.

Natalia is an accomplished equestrian rider, with her mother’s talent, sensitivity, and fierce work ethic. She has competed successfully on the national circuit for many years with top placings in big classes. She will be taking over the ride of her mother's horse Campari, who has been apart of Natalia’s life since he was born and raised at their barn.

Alex is a talented soccer player, recently signed to the Unionville-Milliken Soccer Club in the Ontario Player Development League. The highest level for a 15-year-old to play in Ontario. This program will be training him for national-level competition. Including tournaments to the US and practices taking him to Unionville 4 to 5 times a week. Just like his mom he is devoted and determined.

What makes these kids remarkable isn’t just their exceptional skill — it’s the deep belief they have in themselves. The same belief that Becky lived by. The same belief Rob models every day through his art. It is a rare gift they all share, a unique and deep connection to their own inner north star.

As Rob said so beautifully:

“If the kids can keep doing what they love, they’ll be okay.”

This fund is to make that possible.

To help Natalia stay in the sport that connects her to her mom and her passion for horses.

To help Alex pursue the soccer career he’s worked so hard for.

To give them stability, opportunity, and the chance to keep growing into who they already know they are.

Supporting this fund is a way to honour Becky’s legacy — her courage, her passion, her belief in joy, and her profound love for her children.
