The Amy Wyant Cancer Treatment Fund
Donation protected
In April of this year, my sister Amy was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. This is a cancer where the body cannot produce healthy blood cells. Due to the hard chemo she received while battling non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 7 years ago, this was an unfortunate result. Things have progressed somewhat rapidly in the last 3 months and the only way to get this disease halted is with a stem cell transplant. Time is not on Amy’s side so the doctors are wanting to complete this quickly. She is set to undergo this on August 19th.
Due to her extensive stays in the hospital already and the long term stay she will have during the transplant, she and her husband Travis are faced with some pretty high medical bills. For example, a common stem cell transplant before insurance costs upwards of $1 million dollars. Other costs associated with this process include fuel for the daily doctor and hospital visits, meals during the numerous trips, medications, hotel or apartment during her stay near the transplant hospital while she recovers, and as mentioned before, her current hospital stays.
In order to assist Amy and Travis, we have set up this GoFundMe page to help pay for the mounting costs that insurance does not cover. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Besides monetary aid, we would really appreciate continued prayers for Amy and her family in this difficult journey and for a successful transplant. If all stays on schedule and according to plan, the doctors are optimistic that this should be resolved hopefully by Christmas time this year.
Her family would like to thank all who have already helped and continue to help her during this time.
Thank you from the Wyants and Follmers!
