Thank Leslie for Her 30 Years of Teaching

Leslie MacDonald has worked at the Lopez Cooperative Preschool as an assistant and lead teacher for 30 years. During that time she has enriched the lives of at least 400 Lopez children. Leslie has decided to move on to other opportunities and will not be returning to the Preschool classroom.  The Preschool Board is reaching out to those 400 children and their families, to give you a chance to show your appreciation for her dedication to providing amazing early learning experiences; Leslie prepared so many Island children to enter kindergarten ready and excited to learn.  We would love to collect photos and memories and are asking those of you who have the means, to donate, so we can show our appreciation with a financial gift.

Working in the early learning field is interesting and rewarding, unfortunately, for now, those rewards are not financial with most people working in the field not receiving benefits.  We believe that 30 years of dedication deserves a little financial cushion.  The Lopez Cooperative Preschool is donating $2,500 with the hope that the families who were touched by Leslie's care, skill, and wisdom can meet or exceed that amount. 

We are trying to keep this a secret from Leslie.  Please share this campaign with other alumni Preschool families, especially those before 2003, but please do not post publicly on social media.
