I'm Alyx, and I'm asking for help as I work to recover and regain housing stability. For over two years, I stayed with different friends because of mental and physical health concerns (I am disabled), while my apartment remained closed up. During that time, everything inside was left untouched, including 25 years' accumulation of belongings, as well as many things from my late mother's home after she died.

Over those same two years, mice got into the apartment and caused damage, adding another layer of cleanup and making the space even harder to face alone, as well as unsafe to live in during the process. Right now, we're trying to make the apartment safe and usable again so I can move forward with more stability. Someone has already begun the moving and cleanup and will continue to do so as the project progresses.

The funds from this fundraiser will first help me pay for inexpensive lodging while my apartment is sorted out and cleaned, as well as temporary storage to sort through. If needed, the funds may also go in great part toward a professional clean-out and hauling service, followed by general and mouse-related cleanup, including dealing with the damage caused by those mice. But I will still need temporary lodging during this time.

This is not easy for me to share; in fact, it is deeply humiliating. You are seeing me at rock bottom. But any support would mean so much to me as I take these next steps.
