Ms. Tegan Goes in for Surgery
Donation protected
Hello friends and family, it’s Tegan Jetton. Betcha didn’t expect to see me here. As you all know, I am a trans woman that has been medically transitioning since 2010. This includes the use of hormones, electrolysis (permanent hair removal) on my face, among other things to live life as my authentic self. Many of you know the progression of my story as you’ve seen my life unfold since I first came out, and many of you also helped me along in various ways. I now ask for help once again from my community in my next big step: my gender confirmation surgery.
This GoFundMe is to help with my medical and recovery expenses for gender confirmation surgery. I have insurance through my job at Starbucks that will cover the bulk of the surgery expense and I’ve worked hard and long to save the considerable co-pay and deductibles associated with the actual surgery, but I’m asking for help to cover the additional expenses that will be incurred by being out of work for the three month recovery period: rent, continuing insurance premiums, student loan payments (y’know, all that boring adult stuff), as well as any unexpected medical expenses that will surely come up along the way.
I am hoping for the surgery to be scheduled this spring or early summer. My mom (Susan Luks) and I will keep updating this page when we have a firm date and more news about this journey. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
