Hi my name is Zac Hendrix (age 24). As many of you know I have mentored students in the Clarke County school district for 5 years now, but no one has touched my heart like Taeden Johnson. This morning I received a call that no one wants to get. My mentee (Taeden Johnson's) mother, grandmother, and little sister were all killed by a house fire. Taeden ran to the neighbors house while wounded himself to wake someone up to call 911 at 3:30 AM, as that happened; three family members were trapped inside and he completely lost EVERYTHING in the home. As soon as I got the call I rushed up to Athens to make sure my best friend is okay and alive. By the Grace of God to see his smile saying, "I love you bro, you are just a few of the family I have left..." has left me crushed, but trusting God's plan through this tragic event.

Family and friends, I kindly ask you to donate your clothes, time, or financial capabilities to this fund. Please keep this family in your prayers and know the people affected by this are closer to God than ever before. His word states, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Taeden Johnson (age 12) lost three family member's, his home, belongings, and is now living with his paternal grandmother at 193 Magnolia Street - Athens, Ga. He is left behind with a half sister who is in high school. (I will be getting details for her sizes/living situation so I can help her as well.)

Taeden has burn wounds on his face, elbow, and arm but he is smiling and I am so thankful for that. I was able to spend some time with him this afternoon once he was released from Piedmont Athens and while he is in shock about what happened, he is battling a lot of grief. Please join me in lifting him up in your prayers. The proceeds will go directly to a fund for his college and future that I have set up for him. Also the proceeds will go to his grandmother (Brenda Ballard) to buy him some clothes and help his family with their personal needs. His sizes are (youth M/L/XL) or even adult small that he will eventually grow into. He also wears a size 5 shoe, but will eventually be in a 6.

The news has stated: "Two adults and one child are dead after an early morning house fire in Athens, Georgia Wednesday. Officials say they received a 911 call from a neighbor on the 700 block of Spring Valley Road shortly before 3:30 a.m. When they got to the scene, crews found the home fully up in flames and started to work battling the blaze. As they were working to get the fire under control, a neighbor told them that a 12-year-old boy had escaped and that there were others still in the home. When crews got to the fire extinguished enough to enter the home, they found the bodies of three victims. This is a tragic loss in our community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the victims," Athens-Clarke County Fire Chief Jeff Scarbrough said."

These proceeds will benefit Taeden Johnson's future, his college fund, and his trust fund. I will be organizing a lawyer and CPA to handle the proceeds from this GoFundMe. I will also provide for his half-sister's future as well, as she is also in need. I will set Taeden's paternal grandmother as the beneficiary with the lawyer in the coming weeks as we transfer the funds out of here and into another account. I love you all and we will get through this together!! May we trust God's plan more than ever before, hug your loved ones today... You never know when it will be your last one!!
