Robert and Dorothy Green, longtime Amherst residents and owners of Amherst Typewriter and Computer, are experiencing difficult times financially and health-wise. We are putting a call out on the strength, unity and benevolence of the community to rally in support and help them pull through.
Dorothy Green has been dealing with a neuromuscular disease and her health has deteriorated drastically. She was first at Cooley Dickinson in Northampton, then Baystate in Springfield, and now she is at Mass General in Boston and is recovering from surgery.
Because she is in the intensive care unit, Mr. Green is unable stay overnight with her and requires accommodations outside of the hospital. His vehicle is inoperable and Mr. Green must rent a car to travel back and forth to Boston.
Established in 1976, the typewriter and computer repair shop in downtown Amherst has been a fixture in the community for some time and the Greens are longtime residents of the Pioneer Valley. Mr. Green suffered a stroke four years ago and since his wife’s medical emergency is unable to keep the shop open since October.
Please give what you can to help ease the financial burden of the Greens, so Mr. Green may focus on Dorothy's full recovery.
